It's been a while now since I last posted some poetry here.
However, I never stopped writing.
I just believed my own doubts when they told me my posts where useless. It often happens.
But I love writing poetry... So I'm back.
I started writing these words a few months ago while I was thinking about this fast-paced world we live in. Everything is going so fast for no reason! It feels like we just refuse to live an easy life...
The picture that illustrate this poem was taken by my son a few years ago as we were walking together, and I wanted to use it because it perfectly shows the beauty of the life I believe in.
One step at a time, surrounded by the colours of nature...
This poem is an invitation to slow down.
As often, I initially wrote it in English (though I'm French but words come to me in English first) and then I created a french version that's slightly different, because I let words and rhymes guide me.
If you can read in French too, please read both versions since each language brings its own nuances.
Happy reading and bon voyage...
Joanna
There is a world somewhere,
Made of flowers, butterflies and fresh air,
A world made of freedom,
Where actions all rhyme with wisdom.
In this wondrous place,
Life has never been a race.
Every step is taken slowly,
Everything is brought to life patiently.
Here, the heart of people is made of gold,
Full of love, felt, embraced and told.
Thoughts have time to grow,
And life doesn’t feel like being caught in an undertow.
Words, still have meaning,
Capturing emotions, beliefs and feelings.
Along the way, a resident of this world once came across a hurried man.
« Why are you running ? », she asked,
« Because I have to », he answered. « Hurry up ! You're late ! »
With a smile she turned away,
Took a look at the sky, the trees, the birds and whispered :
« Slow down! You're blind… »
With a smile she turned away, closed her eyes,
Listened to her heart and deep inside she knew,
That by walking,
To herself she stayed true.
Written with love, always
